Ready for Summer-sign up for May 12th classes

Get ready for Summer!

Start with Beginner Salsa & Bachata classes with BALORICO at Viva Arts located just off the West Seattle bridge on your way to Alki Beach.

Our next dance series begins Monday May 12th

You never need a dance partner to participate. Navigate to our Classes & Workshops page to sign up. The May - June series includes a PRACTICA dance social so you can get comfortable applying your moves and learn with other beginner dancers.

Register here and sign up for the Beginner May- June series meeting
Mondays at 7pm.

Experienced dancers

You can join our Level II classes weekly at 8pm on Monday and Wednesdays. As the weather shifts to sunnier days, find new motivation with Latin Rhythms. If you have prior Salsa experience and have danced "On1" or "Casino" then our Monday 8pm Salsa on2 is the best fit. This class emphasizes the New York style timing that will help you transfer what you know to the timing practices with dancing Mambo or Salsa on2.

Our classes also help you build community.

Social dancing is about being social so as you progress through all the fundamentals, vocabulary and turn patterns, you will also gain more confidence in putting yourself "out there" in the Seattle social dance scene. Seattle is a great place to connect with a stranger via dance!
Beginners that progress through the Monday Level 1 class, are encouraged to repeat to reinforce and/or move to the Wednesday 8pm Salsa & Bachata Level II class so you develop proficiency in both dances: Salsa & Bachata. Our Wednesday Salsa & Bachata II class focuses on expanding your dance vocabulary, agility and body isolations.

SAVE THE DATE

  • Our Summer PRACTICA on June 11th  As Seattle's sunset time is gets later and later, you will want to keep that energy up and use it to practice your best moves, pick up some new dance steps and best of all practice working with different dancer partners. The PRACTICAs are open to the public, $20 drop in.

Did you know?!

For those of you following the theatre production, Laughs in Spanish BALORICO is excited to share that the show was extended through May 17th! Preview the digital program here and catch this tender and comical mother-daughter story written by Columbian-Jewish playwright, Alexis Scheer.

I am so grateful to have contributed to this production and feel so much appreciation for every person from the 200+ member staff and union members it  takes to get everything so tight. Below are a few backstage and rehearsal shots with the Laughs Creative Team during this very FUN process of art making.
