Dancing kiddos? Join us with your little one for our   Preview  Youth Ballroom Dance  classes Monday Dec. 7th  At 4pm ages 6 and under are welcome to dance with one caregiver and be introduced to the beautiful movement of the Foxtrot,Waltz and then animate the space with Merengue and Swing!  $12/ $10 siblings ages 4+, 45minute lesson. At 5pm (ages 7+)  Youth and teens will be introduced to our American Bronze dances with our 55 minute class.  Pre-registration is required for both classes at balorico@gmail.com.

Keep up your defenses this winter with an interactive workout on the dance floor!  Classes : a new 6-week series in Ballroom at 6pm and Salsa On2 at 7pm begins Monday 11/9.   Fridays, we now offer Latin Styling & Footwork at 6pm for salseros wishing to push their conditioning and agility to execute beautiful and precise movement. From 7-8:30pm we offer Adv. Beginner Mambo focused on drilling fundamentals and combination work. Special workshops in November: Meet Kizomba , she’s an infectious Brazilian close-encounter dance rooted in dances from Angola that will leave you wanting more with its catchy rythms and soul. Special workshop with a guest instructor 11/16, 8-9:30pm at K.H. Our next Clave & Musicality percussion & dance workshop is 11/17, 6:30-8pm at the Balorico studio.

Get excited, get moving, who will be your partner this Fall? We begin our 8-week Social Ballroom I course (Foxtrot, Swing, Rhumba, Hustle & Waltz) at 6pm.  Salseros will joint at 7pm for an 8-week progress series focused on drilling Salsa on2 Fundamentals, footwork and musicality as it relates to the Clave rhythms. (We will touch on Cha-Cha-Cha and Bachata to help beginner dancers understand how to translate their training into other Latin dance styles.)  NEW CLASSES IN OCTOBER will run Fridays at the Balorico Studio-6pm Ladies Styling & Spinning class (open level) and Adv. Beginner Salsa on2 will meet 7-8:30pm. (Sorry, no drop-ins). Combo packages available for those that wish to augment their learning with private instruction. The Fall Dance Series has begun. Our new class schedule includes 6pm Bachata & Cha Cha, 7pm Salsa on2 & 8pm Ballroom Tango & Swing. Private instruction continues for Weddings and groups. Please note, our Youth Ballroom course is modified this Fall to include parents & caregivers-see the side panel for updated info. Tonite is the opening of our community dance number entitled Draft as part of U.W.World Series studio theatre series with the magic of Robert Moses Kin's vocabulary as I think about a great woman's legacy. Whew... A long weekend of activity. The ArtsTime Conference for Dance Educators received us well with our AfroPeruvian Dance & Percussion presentation. Thank you to Ernesto Pediangco of the Pan American Rhythm Band who contributed his expertise. We also had the pleasure of helping CarpeDance welcome Pierre Dulaine to Seattle who is the creator of "Dancing Classrooms" the NYC program that was documented in the film MadHot Ballroom and my former boss. Hi Everyone Mambo/Salsa On2 in West Seattle begins this Wednesday 6pm-7pm. Its a Beginner level class focusing on On2 dancing with a little splash of Palladium style mambo for styling. For those who don't know the term, the Palladium was THE seed of great big-band latin music and dancers who pioneered the style you see today with all the spinning and intricate body isolations. What differentiates this style is the footwork and SOUL!! So I am excited to begin. Also this Monday we begin a new cycle of Ballroom & Latin for the next 6 weeks that will include some Argentine Tango, Swing, Foxtrot, Salsa and Viennese Waltz. See you on the dancefloor!
