BACHATA and Cha Cha Cha  at 6pm will be the focus of the Ballroom Latin series. Practice the traditional Bachata style and learn how to fuse "sexy" with traditional Bachata. We also incorporate Cha Cha Cha to help expand your sensibility to timing and musicality. This Friday BALORICO Dance performs at Seattle Repertory Theatre and presents Tango Fusion for Thriving Artists' benefit party. The island dance....Bachata. What I love about dancing this beautiful Dominican dance is not only that it is full of mixed rhythms and slower in tempo to that of a salsa, but it is a resting dance where you literally can recline and experience your partner's flow in more expressive ways. There's a certain connection you can go to with awareness of energy, chi and beyond-body connections. Dancers of all levels are welcome for this sensual and percussive Bachata body workshop 8pm-9:15pm on Monday 3/21 at 7904 35th Ave SW. Singles welcome. Summer is here! We begin our summer dance series July 6th - August 31st in West Seattle. Mondays: Social Ballroom dancing at 6pm includes Swing, Rumba, Hustle and beginner Salsa to help all level of dancers get through those social summer events. At 7pm, we continue Salsa on2 training including  Bachata for 1/3 of the class. (All are welcome- open level class). For the extra motivated dancers: Styling & Spinning at 8pm will be offered as a 4 week series for Latin Dancers looking to improve balance, anatomical alignment and weekly choreography will be ready for you to "perform". Floor barre sequences will be used to warm you up-can't wait! Thank you to Univision Seattle for including us in their roster of Latin Talent to perform our new number, here with Eduardo Aguirre. Lastly, the BALORICO Clave & Musicality monthly workshop continues-mark your calendar for every 3rd Tuesday of the month 6:30-8pm (7/21 & 8/18). A special   thank you to my private students...

As a wedding dance specialist, I am always amazed how courageous committed couples are to leap forward with their love, and the boldness required to sustain it ...a First Dance is indeed the first of many dances...In reflection of Dr. MLK Jr's legacy, remember also our privilege to touch and feel togetherness . The Fall Dance Series has begun. Our new class schedule includes 6pm Bachata & Cha Cha, 7pm Salsa on2 & 8pm Ballroom Tango & Swing. Private instruction continues for Weddings and groups. Please note, our Youth Ballroom course is modified this Fall to include parents & caregivers-see the side panel for updated info. I love it how dance bridges cultures of understanding. Last night, Taiwanese dance company, Cloudgate, poetically reminded us that slower movement and slower pacing requires and helps teach us control,inner strength, release of self...all for moments of visual clarity. So much to take in and apply to dance training and the use of technique for achieving freedom. Amidst the sea of golden rice husks, I couldn't help but think when is dance our practice of prayer? Save the date: Mondays at 8:05pm,starting April 7th, I'm bringing back AfroPeruvian dance . Join us as we use my favorite rhythms (Festejo,Lando and Zamacueca) to get fit, stretch and cross-train to improve "cuban motion." Open level-join us!

Valentine's day is for celebrating friendship and good company in dance...remember gift certificates go well with chocolates, dinner and sweets :) We're keeping the dance floor warm with our children and adults classes. The next adults series begins Monday March 3rd-it will be the 9 session challenge in both Ballroom & Salsa.
