Thank you to everyone that attended our first Friday Social at Lowdown Ballroom - we had fun, we shared and generated new energy to bring you BALORICO quality Salsa on2 classes with Vanessa & Geoff. What makes our community of learners unique is that every single person in the room has an innate sense of community, positivity, open mind and mature perspective to know that the learning never stops, your mindset is everything, and what you reap is what you sow. Mondays, I'm excited to return to my dance roots of Modern Dance and will be sharing a beginner Modern Dance class for Latin Dancers. This class will expand your movement vocabulary and help you work within the various fun rhythms of Son, Mambo, Cha Cha cha, AfroPeruvian and instrumentals. How it applies to partner dancing? The various connection to the floor and levels of weighted-ness with, over, across and into the floor matter in how your movement will look and feel. Friday July 29th-All families are welcome this weekend to visit the Seattle Latin Brazilian & Carribbean Festival. (Kids are welcome until 10pm-free event) B A L O R I C O will be leading a fun dance party to the live sounds of Latin Band Tumbao at 11pm so bring your dance shoes! Then Sunday catch us performing at Pica Pica in Capital Hill for those that can't get enough of Salsa on Alki :) Next week, August classes continue in Ballroom, Salsa & AfroPeruvian dance. We had a great time at our July Meetup dancing to the sounds of Sambas, Salsas and Cumbias- thanks to those that ventured out to try out your moves. Get ready- be prepared - it's never too late to begin dancing!

BALORICO's Spring into Summer dance series runs May 2- June 27th  Sign up now !  206 679-7229 The 6pm Silver Ballroom Dance class will get folks moving across the floor, taking advantage of the large open floor-Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango + Swing and American style Rumba. Tuesday 4/19 we're hosting our monthly CLAVE & Musicality workshop with Picoso salsa band percussionist Lalo Bello, 6:30-8pm at the Balorico Studio. What to expect? We'll tune our ears to the sounds of Cha Cha Cha and Pachanga, and how these dances fit within the Clave framework to help you best improvise and play with the music and your partner, $20. Join us with your little one for our   Preview  Youth Ballroom Dance  classes Monday Dec. 7th  At 4pm ages 6 and under are welcome to dance with one caregiver and be introduced to the beautiful movement of the Foxtrot,Waltz and then animate the space with Merengue and Swing!  $12/ $10 siblings ages 4+, 45minute lesson. At 5pm (ages 7+)  Youth and teens will be introduced to our American Bronze dances with our 55 minute class.  Pre-registration is required for both classes at balorico@gmail.com.

Salsa and Latin music lovers, tomorrow we explore the music and the relationship to the dancer. Our monthly workshop with PICOSO percussionist Lalo Bello continues 6:30pm-8pm at the Balorico Studio. We'll focus on Yambu rhythms and 3-2 clave expression. Ballroom Dance & Salsa classes continue Mondays at Kenyon Hall and Fridays at the Balorico Studio. The NEXT group class series begins Friday Nov. 6th and Monday Nov. 9th -save the date! 

Get excited, get moving, who will be your partner this Fall? We begin our 8-week Social Ballroom I course (Foxtrot, Swing, Rhumba, Hustle & Waltz) at 6pm.  Salseros will joint at 7pm for an 8-week progress series focused on drilling Salsa on2 Fundamentals, footwork and musicality as it relates to the Clave rhythms. (We will touch on Cha-Cha-Cha and Bachata to help beginner dancers understand how to translate their training into other Latin dance styles.)  NEW CLASSES IN OCTOBER will run Fridays at the Balorico Studio-6pm Ladies Styling & Spinning class (open level) and Adv. Beginner Salsa on2 will meet 7-8:30pm. (Sorry, no drop-ins). Combo packages available for those that wish to augment their learning with private instruction. Tuesday April 14th we start our special Mas Tumbao Salsa workshop series. Salsa dancers can expect to practice and develop their ear for dancing to the clave and staying on the clave. I'm excited, we'll have live percussion accompaniment. All levels welcome with an "on2" style focus. $25/person. RSVP required, please register by emailing balorico@gmail.com. You know it when you see it, those dancers living in the moment, doing what they do best-connecting. I recently "caught" some former students GOING FOR IT: a father of four added the bachata to his soccer coaching practice at the park; while at the WS street fair an elder (dating) couple established the ballroom dance floor without any care of who was watching as a local musician played a pseudo swing-bluegrass tune; later at Salsa on Alki, some brave salseros led their follows successfully "on2"among the sea of "on 1" dancers...DANCE-We all do it, in private or public, wherever you do it, do it with pride, loud and proud ;) I'm feeling blessed to share this special way of connecting. Hi everyone, The sun is lovin Seattle and today there is Salsa at Alki! Enjoy! I will run class Monday Labor Day with a 6:30 Beginner Salsa & Bachata class and 7:30 Advanced Beginner Salsa on2.
