The island dance....Bachata. What I love about dancing this beautiful Dominican dance is not only that it is full of mixed rhythms and slower in tempo to that of a salsa, but it is a resting dance where you literally can recline and experience your partner's flow in more expressive ways. There's a certain connection you can go to with awareness of energy, chi and beyond-body connections. Dancers of all levels are welcome for this sensual and percussive Bachata body workshop 8pm-9:15pm on Monday 3/21 at 7904 35th Ave SW. Singles welcome. Then in March- learn to coordinate Cuban hip motion with beautiful expression of the limbs on Monday 3/7- 8pm, with our AfroPeruvian dance & STYLING class(for Follows). Lastly, for the Bachateros! Salsa and Latin music lovers, tomorrow we explore the music and the relationship to the dancer. Our monthly workshop with PICOSO percussionist Lalo Bello continues 6:30pm-8pm at the Balorico Studio. We'll focus on Yambu rhythms and 3-2 clave expression. Ballroom Dance & Salsa classes continue Mondays at Kenyon Hall and Fridays at the Balorico Studio. The NEXT group class series begins Friday Nov. 6th and Monday Nov. 9th -save the date!

Tuesday April 14th we start our special Mas Tumbao Salsa workshop series. Salsa dancers can expect to practice and develop their ear for dancing to the clave and staying on the clave. I'm excited, we'll have live percussion accompaniment. All levels welcome with an "on2" style focus. $25/person. RSVP required, please register by emailing balorico@gmail.com. Yes, classes are running Monday 2/16. Treat yourself to our 6pm Ballroom Mixer class including: Tango, Rumba, Swing and Waltz, or at 7pm dive into our open level Salsa on2 class.
