Sometimes the beauty in learning is the notion of philosophy, a new perspective or new found respect for something ordinary. Every time I teach younger audiences, I end up the student and my understanding deepens.Thought I'd share my happy thought.
This week we returned to the Lake Washington school district to support the efforts of a dynamic Spanish teacher who is doing great work in cultivating a global perspective with her 7th and 8th graders. This year the focus was on the Dominican Republic and Cuba. It is so refreshing to have the opportunity to share and collaborate across educational divides. New Year 2012, teach me more!
Few Event Announcements: ADULTS Friday Nov. 25th, 7:00pm-8:30pm Balorico will host a Latin Night dance social at the home studio in West Seattle. This is open to beginners, friends, former and current students who would like a chance to meet other local dancers and simply put, good people. Casual, light snacks and refreshments provided. Adults only. Introductory 30 min lesson in Bachata & Swing then open dance floor to practice, chat and practice some more. $15/person, $25/duets. T E E N S Saturday Nov. 12, 1:00pm-3:00pm Balorico will host a FREE teens dance class inspired by contemporary art at the Bellevue Art Museum.

Our next dance party, the PRACTICA  is April 30th and its a great way for beginners to dive into the fun of social dancing. We are holding it one hour earlier this month, and for the second hour, dancers can  meetup for a beverage in the West Seattle Junction.   Get into DANCE mode and join our SALSA & BACHATA dance series at Viva Arts dance studio. Mondays is for Beginners and Level II dancers. The new dance series begins Monday  November 4th , 7pm for beginners and each class is progressive. Beginners signup here .  Wednesday nights are for experienced dancers focused on improving turn patterns, musicality for dancers transferring from on1 dancing to on2 timing. With time, dancers understand the secret ingredient to feel-good dances…body movement and partner connection. Create space for something FUN this Spring! Reap the rewards of learning to dance Salsa on2 & Bachata with BALORICO. Our next series registration is open. Wednesday night series dancers begin MARCH 5th. New beginners start learning MARCH 10th. Sign up with a buddy, neighbor or a loved one. Singles are welcome. No partner is needed to participate, just a positive attitude. Register today to get started or try a PRACTICA dance social to get to know the people and the dances.
